The Pakistani former cricketer, fastest bowler, and commentator Shoaib Akhtar share captivating stories and unfiltered take on cricket's highs and lows. He also talks about his epic journey through the cricketing universe to host RJ Yuvi in an exclusive interview.
When asked about having a conversation with the former Indian cricketer Mahendra Singh Dhoni and how he is different from others, Shoaib Akhtar said, "I'll be very honest with you, he's another guy. Jo bhi itna bada aadmi banta hai maine usmein humanity badi dekhi hai, aur uski niyat towards team India, his intent towards team India was far far better than anyone else that a captain that I've ever seen. His intent for India to win matches and to win the trophies was superior to anyone else or tactically he was bay sound, he was very well present when he comes to the field."
He added, "A great guy again, never knew much about him but, you know he's a different kind of soul, built with a different kind of material. You know he's this guy is amazing what he's done for India is commendable, but the way he memorized himself. You know and then winning a World Cup as a captain you see mostly the wars are not remembered because of the soldier but because the journals right so Dhoni was a general Dhoni is a fabulous Talent Mission."
The cricketer was further asked about which profession he would have chosen if he could not get success in the field of cricket, to which Shoaib jokingly replied, "If I were not a cricketer then, I would be a gangster. You know what? I was offered to work in the film Gangster, and Mahesh Bhatt came to me and said, " Beta itna pyaara role hai Gangster ka, toh aap ye role karlo. Aap gangster lagte bhi ho. Ye likha hi aapke liye gaya hai."
Shoaib also revealed another film he was offered but did not take its name. He even disclosed the reason behind not working in films and said, "I felt that I would not be able to balance between the world of cricket and acting. I was afraid of getting lost or losing myself in this. But now, when I see myself I feel that I should spend more quality time with my family and pay attention to their needs."
Shoaib Akhtar's career will forever be etched in history as the man who shattered speed barriers. Akhtar became renowned as the fastest bowler the game had ever seen.
