Maidaan: Ajay Devgn’s first look from the new film bears uncanny resemblance to Akshay Kumar from Gold

The makers of Ajay Devgn's upcoming film, 'Maidaan' revealed the first look of the actor, who plays revered football coach Syed Abdul Rahim in the Amit Ravindernath Sharma directorial.The film celebrates the achievements of the father of Indian football, who coached the Indian team to victory at the Asian Games held in 1951 and 1962. As the caption reads, 'Yeh kahaani hai Indian football ke Golden phase ki aur uske sabse badey aur successful coach ki.'However, one can't miss the striking similarity between Devgn's look in 'Maidaan' and Akshay Kumar's poster for 'Gold'. Interestingly, 'Gold' also celebrated the golden period of Indian hockey in the 1950s.'Maidaan' also stars Priyamani and Gajraj Rao in key roles. Written by Akash Chawla, Arunava Joy Sengupta, Saiwyn Quadros and Ritesh Shah, the music of the film has been rendered by Amit Trivedi with lyrics by Amitabh Bhattacharya.The film releases in cinemas on November 27, 2020
