Lal Singh Chaddha, which came out in 2022 and starred Aamir Khan and Kareena Kapoor, bombed at the box office. It came as a huge shock to everyone that the film didn't do well despite having a really engaging storyline that was adapted from the American film Forrest Gump, starring Tom Hanks.
Casting director Mukesh Chhabra recently revealed how everyone reacted as the film failed miserably. However, he revealed that Aamir Khan still threw a party with the cast and crew and apologized for the film's failure.
Lal Singh Chaddha was made at a budget of over 180 crore and minted close to 130 crores at the box office worldwide.
Mukesh Chhabra spoke about Aamir Khan and said, "We auditioned a total of 13,000 girls for the four central roles after a while, we narrowed it down to 400, then 200, then 100, and then, finally, to seven. He said he would like to personally audition with each girl."

He said that Aamir Khan still works as if he is a newcomer to the industry and also said that he is just a supporting character in the film.
When he was what it felt like when the film bombed, Mukesh said, "It doesn't impact my agency professionally, but personally, you feel bad. After the movie flopped, I spoke to Aamir and Advait Chandan (director) we couldn't believe the movie had been thrashed. For a film to flop is one thing, but a disaster is a whole different thing altogether."
Further, he revealed, "Not too many people know this, but Aamir hosted a party for all of us in honor of the crew. He said, 'Sorry the film didn't work, but we should all meet'. Who does this? We were all wondering why they're having a party, but they wanted all the departments to come together."
Earlier last year, videos from the party went viral, where the directors Advait Chandan, Kareena, and Pritam were present. Lyricist Amitabh Bhattacharya was seen singing the song from the film, 'Tere Hawale'. During the party, Aamir said that it was his fault that the film didn't do well.
After the film, Aamir Khan took a one-year sabbatical and didn't work. He spent time with his family and reflected deeply on his life. Now, he has multiple projects lined up for the future. He has signed a film as a producer with Sunny Deol, which is set in partition time and will be directed by Rajkumar Santoshi. Apart from that, he announced a sequel to Taare Zameen Par.
