The 96th Academy Awards took place on the evening of March 10, 2024, at Dolby Hall in Los Angeles. It continues to keep the internet quaking and buzzing with noteworthy moments. This year's show was hosted by the comedian Jimmy Kimmel.

Christopher Nolan's Oppenheimer made history at the Oscars today by winning eight out of the thirteen categories it was nominated for.

During the event, one of the unmissable moments was when John Cena presented the award for the best costume category in a not-so-conservative way.

In a hilarious skit presented by Oscars host Jimmy Kimmel and John Cena, the former said, 'Can you imagine if a nude man ran across the stage today? Wouldn't that be crazy?' Kimmel was referring to the 46th Oscars, which happened in 1974, where a streaker appeared behind David Niven. Streaking as a prank was popular back in the 1970s.

Immediately after, a shirtless John Cena poked his head from backstage, calling Jimmy over for a word. He sounded hesitant as he said, 'I changed my mind. I don't want to do the streaker bit. I just don't feel right about it. It's an elegant event, you know you should feel shame right now for suggesting such a tasteless joke.'

Soon after a series of humorous back and forths with the wrestler-actor saying, 'The male body is not a joke," the legendary wrestler-actor walked out on the stage naked, with a big envelope strategically placed to cover him up.

Everyone in the audience was seen laughing at the funny skit even Barbie star Margot Robbie seemed amused by the surprising appearance.

John Cena then goes on to announce the nominations for the best costume category by saying, 'Costumes, they are so important. Maybe the most important thing there is.' This prompted another roar of laughter from the audience.


'Poor Things' won the Best Costume Design Award at the Oscars 2024

John Cena presented the award category for best costume, which was won by the Emma Stone, Mark Ruffalo, and Willem Dafoe starrer 'Poor Things'. The film is a mix of science fiction, dark comedy, and fantasy. It is directed by Yorgos Lanthimos and produced by Emma.

'Poor Things' also won the Oscar for other categories like best production design and best makeup and hairstyling. Emma Stone received the Academy Award for the same film in the best actress category.
