Actor Chandrakanth Commits Suicide Only Days After Co-Star Pavithra Jayaram`s Accidental Death

Following the tragic news of the passing away of Pavithra Jayaram, her co-actor Chandrakanth has also passed away by suicide. Pavithra and Chandrakanth appeared together in the Telugu series Trinayani.

Both actors are well known for their roles in Telugu daily serials. Pavithra Jayaram passed away in an unfortunate car accident on May 12, 2024. At the time, Chandrakanth was with her, but she survived the car crash with minor injuries.

Since then, the actor has uploaded multiple posts for Pavithra on his Instagram handle. Likewise, his social media handle is filled with pictures of him and Pavithra together. It was rumoured that the couple was in love with each other and planned to make their relationship official soon. Both of them were married and had children, but they separated from their partners before the tragic accident.

Many Chandrakanth, affectionately known as Chandu, family members said that the actor was depressed and disturbed after Pavithra Jayaram's passing away. It is reported that the actor was alone in his flat before his wife found him. Chandu reportedly hung himself on the evening of May 17.

His first wife, Shilpa, was concerned for the actor after he shared a disturbing post on Instagram. The caption read, 'Naannnaa helliphellip pls hey wait for just 2days ra..' Shilpa was fearful after reading this post as to what extreme steps Chandu might take. She and Chandu's family tried contacting him, but he did not pick up anyone's calls. He was supposed to be at home, yet being unreachable concerned the family members who immediately visited the actor's home. Unfortunately, Chandrakanth had already taken his life before the family members and his wife could break down the door.

On investigation, the police found a suicide note near the scene. However, the contents of the note have not been made public. The Alkapur police have registered a case under Section 174 of the Code of Criminal Procedure, 1973. The police are currently investigating the case.

Chandrakanth gained a lot of recognition for this work in Telugu series Trinayani post-COVID breakout. Several co-stars have passed on their condolences to the grieving family, including Neeraja.
