Akshay Kumar Pens a Heartfelt Note for Niece Simar Bhatia Ahead of Her Debut

Bollywood superstar Akshay Kumar has expressed his heartfelt pride and joy for his niece Simar Bhatia as she gears up for her Bollywood debut. Simar, the daughter of Akshay's sister Alka Bhatia, will make her cinematic debut with the war drama Ikkis. The film, directed by the celebrated Sriram Raghavan, is set to hit theatres on January 10, 2025.


A Special Note from Akshay Kumar

Akshay Kumar recently took to social media to share his emotions about this milestone in Simar's life. Sharing a picture of a newspaper featuring Simar, he wrote, 'I remember the first time I saw my photo on the cover of the newspaper. I thought that's the ultimate happiness. But today I know the happiness of seeing your child's photo here beats everything.'

Reflecting on his late mother, he added, 'I wish my mom was here today, and she would have said 'Simar puttar Tu tah Kamaal hai (Dear Simar, you have done wonders)'. Bless you my baby, the sky is yours.'

Akshay's sister, Alka Bhatia, a film producer who has worked on several of his movies, has remained away from the limelight. One report highlighted that, 'Although Alka is a camera-shy person and has always stayed away from the limelight despite producing several movies with Akshay, her daughter Simar has always been interested in acting and is excited to get on a film set to live her dream.'

Ikkis: A Tale of Valor and Relationships

Simar Bhatia will star as the romantic lead opposite Agastya Nanda in Ikkis, which also features legendary actors Dharmendra and Jaideep Ahlawat. The film is based on the inspiring life of Second Lieutenant Arun Khetarpal, a valiant officer of the Indian Army who was posthumously awarded the Param Vir Chakra for his heroism in the 1971 Indo-Pak War.

Agastya Nanda plays Arun Khetarpal, while Dharmendra portrays his father, Brigadier M.L. Khetrapal. The movie, produced by Dinesh Vijan's Maddock Films, is not only a war drama but also a poignant coming-of-age story exploring the bond between father and son.


Akshay Kumar's Upcoming Projects

On the work front, Akshay Kumar will be seen in Sky Force, releasing on January 24, 2025. The film, which marks Veer Pahariya's debut, features Akshay as an Indian Air Force officer on a mission of vengeance.

Additionally, he is set to return in Jolly LLB 3 alongside Arshad Warsi and Huma Qureshi and the highly anticipated Housefull 5, scheduled for release on June 6, 2025.
