Akshay Kumar Wishes To Buy Home He Once Used To Rent For Rs. 500, Shares His Fond Childhood Memory

When you think of an actor who is a dedicated family man and a doted father, Akshay Kumar has to top the list. He is synonymous with discipline and knows how to have a healthy work-life balance. Before making it big in the Hindi film industry, the actor had seen his own share of ups and downs without drifting away from his roots.

The Bade Miyan Chote Miyan actor has always credited his parents for his humble upbringing. And he's trying to inculcate the same values in his children. Akshay Kumar has often spoken about his childhood and how his father used to work hard to make ends meet.

In a recent interview with podcaster Ranveer Allahabadia, the actor opened up about his childhood, fond memories from his early days, a rented home he used to live in, and everything in between.

Akshay Kumar on buying his rented apartment

In the podcast, Ranveer Allahabadia asked the actor about his memories of Don Bosco Public School and his childhood in Mumbai. Akshay shared a rather emotional connection with his former home and how he is planning to buy it.

When asked how he feels about revisiting his school, Akshay Kumar said, 'Mujjhe pata nahi kya psychology hai lekin mujhe accha lagta hai waha jaana. Mujhe accha lagta hai mere purane ghar me jaana. Humara purana ghar rent pe tha, hum 500 rent dete the."

"To abhi suna hai wo building tut rahi hai. To maine usko bola hua hai ki mujhe teesra maala kharidna hai kyunki main waha rehta tha. Do bedroom ka flat hai, ban rha hai. Unko bola hua hai ki main kharidna chahta hoon," he further added.

Akshay Kumar on his favorite childhood memory

The Phir Hera Pheri actor has always been a family man. He was very close to his father and shared a great bond with his sister as well. Akshay recalled how he and his sister would wait for their dad to come home after work.

Emphasizing how he is always in touch with his roots and simple upbringing, despite all the glamour and stardom, Akshay Kumar says he still makes a point to visit his old apartment every month.

"Neeche ek peru ka jhaad tha. Peru ke jhaad se peru todte the. Main jaata hu har mahine to abhi bhi wo peru ka jhaad hai, Anand ka phool hai. Wo tod ke main le aata hoon. I honestly want to be in touch with that. That is where I come from," he further mentioned.
