A Celebration of Love and Social Upliftment

The event, which took place at the Reliance Corporate Park in Thane, witnessed the joyous union of 50 couples. The ceremony was a grand affair, attended by over 800 people, including family members of the brides and grooms, local social workers, and members of the community. Nita and Mukesh Ambani, along with their children Akash Ambani and Shloka Mehta, and Isha Ambani and Anand Piramal, graced the occasion with their presence, making it a truly special day for all involved.

The Ambanis ensured that the underprivileged couples embarked on their married lives with not just blessings but also a strong foundation. Each couple was presented with gold ornaments, including a mangalsutra, wedding rings, and nose rings. Additionally, they received silver ornaments like toe rings and anklets. But the generosity didn't stop there. Each bride was presented with a cheque for Rs 1.01 lakh as her "streedhan," a symbolic gesture of financial security.

Furthermore, the couples received a year's worth of groceries and household items, covering a variety of 36 essential items and utensils. Appliances like a gas stove, mixer, and fan, along with mattresses and pillows, were also included in these thoughtful gifts. This comprehensive support ensured that the couples could start their new lives together without immediate financial worries.

Giving back and honouring tradition

This initiative by the Ambani family went beyond just celebrating the union of the couples. It highlighted their longstanding commitment to social welfare and community support. The "manav seva hi madhav seva" (service to humanity is service to God) principle resonates deeply with the Ambanis, and this mass wedding exemplifies their belief in giving back to society.

The ceremony concluded with a grand dinner, followed by a mesmerising performance of the traditional Tarpa dance by the Warli Tribe. This cultural showcase added another layer of richness to the event.
