Ananya Panday Reveals If Actors Were Paid To Attend The Ambani Wedding

Ananya Panday, one of the rising and already-on-the-hot list of star kids, is busy making headlines for her recent performance in Call Me Bae. An Amazon Prime Video series, it marked her digital debut on OTT.

For the uninitiated, the actress was seen in the leading role in the Collin D'Cunha's web series, which was backed by Karan Johar's Dharmatic Entertainment. Call Me Bae also featured Vir Das, Gurfateh Pirzada, Varun Sood, Vihaan Samat, Muskkaan Jafferi, and Mini Mathur, among others.

In a recent interview, Ananya Panday lost her cool when she was asked if the actors were paid to attend the Ambani wedding.

The Liger actress, who is busy promoting her recent show, sat down with Mashable India for a rather candid conversation. In the same, she was asked if actors and other celebrities were paid to attend Anant Ambani and Radhika Ambani's wedding.


It was one of the most grand and biggest ever celebrity weddings that India has witnessed. The Ambani wedding was star-studded from the very first function. Ananya, who was present at almost all ceremonies, answered some questions that the commoners might have.

To set the record straight, Ananya Panday clarified that no actor or celebrity was paid to attend the wedding or dance in the baarat. She said, 'They are my friends. I don't understand why people think like this. Obviously, I'll dance wholeheartedly at my friends' wedding. I love celebrating love.'

She went on to describe Anant and Radhika's bond as 'pure love,' further adding how she craves a relationship like theirs.

'One big takeaway from the wedding was that so much was happening, but whenever Anant and Radhika would look at each other, it was just pure love. It felt like violins were playing behind them," the star kid added.

She continued, "That's something I want in lifemdashthat no matter how much chaos is around, you and that person share that connection.'

Further adding about how the Ambanis made everyone feel special, Ananya said, 'They made everyone feel welcome. No matter how many functions there were, they greeted everyone with so much love and warmth. That's such a beautiful quality because it makes everything feel very personal.'

On the work front

Ananya Panday was recently seen in Dharmatic Entertainment's Call Me Bae, a show that's receiving raging reviews for her performance and the lighthearted storyline.

The story revolves around a super-rich brat, Bella (Bae), who goes from a heiress to a hustler overnight. Broke but refusing to be broken, she moves from Delhi to Mumbai in search of a job, beaus, behens, and her better self.

Call Me Bae is now streaming on Amazon Prime Video.
