Veteran Bollywood actor Anil Kapoor has made headlines once again, not for a film role but for a significant personal decision. The 67-year-old star was recently approached with a lucrative deal to endorse a paan masala brand. However, Kapoor turned down the 10 crore offer, standing firm on his values. Here's why the beloved actor declined this tempting opportunity.

A 10 Crore Deal Rejected

Anil Kapoor, one of the most successful actors in Bollywood, was offered a highly profitable endorsement deal from a prominent paan masala company. The staggering amountmdash10 croremdashwould have been a quick financial gain, but Kapoor's decision was driven by a sense of responsibility.

According to a source close to the actor, 'Anil Kapoor was approached by a major pan masala company with a tempting offer. However, he was quick to decline. He believes he has a responsibility towards his fans and the wider audience and feels strongly about not endorsing products that could potentially harm public health, regardless of the monetary compensation.'

Anil Kapoor's decision reflects his evolving mindset towards the kinds of brands he associates with. Known for his commitment to healthy living, Kapoor has always been particular about promoting fitness and wellness. His rejection of the paan masala deal reinforces his belief that endorsing such products would contradict his values. By choosing to place his principles above financial gain, Kapoor has sent a strong message to the public about the importance of promoting healthy choices.

Bollywood's Stance on Paan Masala Endorsements

Kapoor's decision aligns him with several other actors who have refused similar deals. Actors like Kartik Aaryan, Allu Arjun, Yash, John Abraham, and Ammy Virk have all publicly refused to endorse tobacco or paan masala products. John Abraham, in particular, has been vocal about this issue, stating that he won't 'sell death, because it's a matter of principle.'

In contrast, Bollywood superstars such as Ajay Devgn, Shah Rukh Khan, and Akshay Kumar have faced criticism for endorsing paan masala brands. Akshay Kumar found himself in hot water after appearing in a promotional campaign for a certain brand's cardamom products that also sells tobacco products. Kumar eventually apologised to his fans, stating that he would never endorse paan masala again and promising to donate his endorsement fee to a worthy cause.

Anil Kapoor's decision to turn down the offer is a bold stance in the ongoing debate about the ethical responsibilities of celebrities. By rejecting the deal, Kapoor joins a growing list of stars who prioritise public health over profits.
