There have been enough baseless rumors about Bollywood actresses getting divorced from their husbands. While many actresses have been the victims of such gossip, South superstar Asin has allegedly become another target. If reports were to be believed, Asin was headed for a divorce from her husband, Rahul Sharma. And now, the Ghajini actress has finally broken her silence on the matter.

Best known for her role in Aamir Khan's Ghajini as Kalpana Shetty, Asin paved her way to becoming a fan favorite in no time. After delivering some spectacular performances down South, the actress was warmly welcomed in Bollywood as well. She married the founder of Micromax, Rahul Sharma, in 2015.

Asin reacts to divorce rumors

Amidst the divorce rumors, Asin has finally reacted to them. She trashed the news and said the couple is currently enjoying a vacation with their daughter, Arin. In her Instagram stories, the actress wrote a satirical note.

Her story read, "In the middle of our summer holiday right now, literally sitting across each other enjoying our breakfast, we came across some very imaginative and utterly baseless news. It reminds me of the time we were sitting at home together with our families planning our wedding and we heard that we had broken up. Seriously?! Please do better. (I am disappointed to have wasted 5 minutes of an otherwise wonderful holiday on this!) Have a great day, you guys."

What started the rumors?

This speculation comes after the Bol Bachchan actress deleted all her Instagram posts with Rahul. She even removed her wedding pictures from her social media profile. Her last post dates back to October 2022, which is from her daughter's fifth birthday celebration.

As soon as Asin deleted all the posts from her Instagram account, including pictures with her husband, fans and gossip mongers started assuming some tension had been building in the actress's personal life. Speculating a divorce, the media went too far to publish some absurd news.

A source close to the couple opened up about the same and said, "Asin cleared up old photos from her feed at the start of the new year (Jan/Feb). After that, she posted Rahul's photos in her stories on Easter and other occasions. Whoever wrote this story conveniently forgot to notice or mention these, I suppose. Don't think anyone thought someone was going to spin such far-fetched tales at their convenience later for sensationalism over something so silly."

Calling these rumors ridiculous, the source went on to call them a happy couple.

"They are one of the happiest couples we know. Rahul is a doting husband and father and adores Asin. They are the sort of genuine, down-to-earth couple one rarely sees, and they love to keep away from drama and attention. They are very low-profile and keep away from social media exactly for this reason. It's ridiculous to see this written about a couple like them. They are on a holiday together with their daughter and are having a good laugh about it," said the source.

Asin's last movie

The diva and entrepreneur tied the knot in 2015. Asin became yet another addition to the list of actors who quit acting after getting married. While this was her personal choice, we do miss watching Asin's performances on the big screen.

Asin made her debut with the Malayalam film Narendran Makan Jayakanthan Vaka in 2001. She went on to do a couple of Bollywood movies like Ghajini, Bol Bachchan, Ready, London Dreams, Khiladi 786, and more. Her last project was Ajay Devgn's All The Best in 2015.
