On April 2nd, during the screening of a trailer of the Vijay's upcoming film, 'Beast' extremists fans damaged an entire theatre in Tirunelveli. Terrifying videos have been circling around on social media of unruly fans.
Ram Cinemas in Tirunelveli issued free passes for the screening of Vijay's much awaited film. In the middle of utter chaos the theatre failed to maintain Covid protocols. If a big star's trailer is screened free of charge there are chances that 2000 people fill up the place which can only hold a capacity of 800.
'The free pass is making people from across the town gather at one place at a time. If something goes wrong, then the theatre owner will be held responsible. I don't know how many of you know this, when Inaindha Kaigal got released in Shanthi theatre, two people were killed in the stampede. The theatre licence was immediately cancelledhellip the theatre owner was held responsible. They toiled so hard to get back the licence,' said Tirruppur Subramaniam, the president Tamil Nadu Theatres Association in a voice message shared widely on social media.
Directed by Nelson Dhilipkumar, Beast stars Vijay, Pooja Hegde, Selvaraghavan and Yogi Babu, among others. The film is set to hit the theatres on April 13th.
