RM to make a historic debut at the BIFF
BTS' label, BIGHIT MUSIC, recently announced that RM's first solo ary film, "RM: Right People, Wrong Place," will be premiering at the 29th Busan International Film Festival. Scheduled to be held from October 2 to 11, 2024, BIFF is Asia's largest film festival, and RM's ary has been officially selected for the Open Cinema session. This selection is particularly noteworthy, as it marks the first time a film centred on a K-pop artist has been chosen for this category.The ary will have its world premiere at the Busan Cinema Centre's outdoor BIFF Theatre, offering fans and film enthusiasts a unique opportunity to experience the film in a 'large-scale outdoor screening' environment. While the exact screening date has not yet been announced, anticipation is building as the festival dates draw near.
Following its debut at BIFF, "RM: Right People, Wrong Place" will be released globally in theatres, with details about the global release expected to be announced soon.

"RM: Right People, Wrong Place" is more than just a ary it is an intimate portrayal of RM's life and his quest for self-discovery. The film chronicles the eight months leading up to RM's military enlistment in November 2023, capturing the creation of his second solo album along with some deeply personal moments. The ary takes viewers on a journey through Seoul, Tokyo, and Londonmdashcities that played a significant role in shaping the visuals and concepts of RM's album.According to BIGHIT MUSIC, "RM: Right People, Wrong Place is a ary that captures the making of RM's second solo album and his journey to search for his true self." The label further added, "RM's true self emerges only when such boundaries begin to dissolve, a journey authentically captured in RM: Right People, Wrong Place."

The film delves into the duality of RM's existence, portraying him as both the artist 'RM' and the human 'Kim Namjoon." It explores his feelings of being an "outsider in conventional settings" (Right Place, Wrong Person) and "out of place in unusual situations" (Right Person, Wrong Place), offering a raw and honest depiction of his life.
Directed by Lee Seokjun, who also produced BTS bandmate J-Hope's videos for 'Arson' and 'MORE,' the ary promises to be a visual and emotional feast. Produced by HYBE and distributed by CJ 4DPLEX, the film is expected to resonate with fans and non-fans alike, offering a glimpse into the complexities of RM's life and career.

On the musical front, RM made a powerful comeback with his second solo album, "Right Place, Wrong Person," which was released on May 24, 2024. The album features eleven new songs and has received widespread acclaim. It debuted at No. 1 on the Billboard Top Rap Albums chart in June and secured the No. 5 spot on the Billboard 200 album chart. Additionally, six individual tracks from the album debuted in the top 10 of the Rap Digital Song Sales chart, showcasing RM's continued dominance in the music industry.In addition to his ary and solo album, RM is set to release a new collaboration titled "Neva Play" with Megan Thee Stallion on September 6, 2024.
