JANUARY 16,2024

After a prolonged delay, the much-anticipated Primetime Emmy Awards 2024 finally commenced on Monday night in Los Angeles. The Black-ish star Anthony Anderson hosted the ceremony for the first time.

Honouring the best of talents on television, several web series and shows sweep away with big wins. With Succession's final season, The Bear, Netflix's Beef, and The White Lotus leading the way, it was a night to remember for Hollywood.

Before we reveal the full list of 75th Primetime Emmy Awards 2024 winners, let's understand why the event was delayed.

Why were the 2023 Emmy Awards delayed?

Nominations were announced six months ago, and the ceremony was lined up for September last year. Then why were the 2023 Emmy Awards happening in January 2024?

The reason for the delay was a classic one: a labor strike. Over 11,000 television and movie screenwriters called a strike in May. Followed by another massive strike when tens of thousands of actors revoked themselves in July, thus creating a simultaneous and biggest ever writers and actors walkout since 1960.

The Emmy organizers came to the solution that the ceremony will be hosted in January 2024 to give the industry time to resolve the labor disputes. The writers called off their 148-day strike in late September, while the actors came to an agreement with their new deal with the studios in December.

However, despite the delay, the judge and jury were concrete in their decision on the winners. The final round of voting for Emmy took place in August, and the results have been locked ever since.
