When you speak of Bollywood wives who are extremely ambitious and sophisticated yet believe in being humble, Gauri Khan would top the list. She is one of the most elegant star wives and keeps Shah Rukh Khan rooted. While she lives an extra-ordinary life in a dreamy mansion, the designer believes in living simply.
In a recent interview, Gauri Khan opened up about how she likes to live a simple life with her family. Her priority is her children, especially the littlest, Abram Khan. She also went on to elaborate on her day-to-day routine, which is extremely relatable.
The star wife started her career as an interior designer by designing and curating her home, Mannat. Back in the day, Shah Rukh Khan couldn't afford a designer to make the mansion his home. Over time, it was Gauri's passion that made the iconic house a masterpiece.
Gauri Khan on living a simple life
The Pathaan actor and his interior designer wife tied the knot on October 25, 1991. They welcomed their first child, Aryan Khan, in 1997, followed by Suhana Khan in 2000, and AbRam Khan in 2013 via surrogacy.In a recent interview with Curly Tales, the star wife opened up about what a day in her life looks like. Emphasizing living a simple life, Gauri's routine is pretty much relatable to any commoner.

'Well, I'm not an early riser. Because the house is awake at night. So, I wake up by 10,' she said. While she is not much of a night owl, it is SRK's habit of staying up late that has rubbed off on her over the years.

She further added, 'I have my morning coffee, gym, lunch, and work. Kids are my priority, and Abram is home at lunch, maybe by 3. So, spend some time with him, go to work, and then go back home again for dinner. Simple life.'
When asked by what time she prefers to end her day at work, Gauri shared that she likes to finish her appointments by 7:30 in the evening. However, it depends on what the day looks like.
'Each day is different. I have some appointments that have to be taken care of later in the day,' she added.
When Gauri Khan wasn't keen on living in Mumbai
The adorable couple have been married for over 32 years. In these three decades, they have seen several ups and downs. Did you know that the designer was not quite keen on living in Mumbai?Well, the city has hardly anything to offer for people looking to live a simple life. However, she fell in love with the speedy life of Mumbai after SRK gained fame and became a household name.

In her book, My Life in Design's foreword, the Dunki actor revealed how Gauri Khan donned the hat of an interior designer for their home, Mannat, as they were short of finances after buying a monstrous sea-facing house in the heart of the city.
'The task of designing her own house, which was rather big, the appreciation of friends, and the sheer determination to make sure that our home was what we always desired egged her on to learn new things. She trained herself to understand spaces and figure out how basic amenities, logistics, and beauty come together to make a home,' Shah Rukh wrote.
