Karan Johar's Kuch Kuch Hota Hai has completed 25 years. To celebrate the occasion, Dharma Productions has organized a special screening for fans on October 15. However, just after the announcement came up, the show went houseful in minutes.
Kuch Kuch Hota Hai marked the directorial debut of Karan Johar in the year 1998. After its release, it turned out to be a hit at the box office, both on the national and international circuits. People fell in love with the college romance that matured into something more. Over time, the film has achieved a classic status and remains Johar's most cherished film. The film starred Kajol, Shah Rukh Khan and Rani Mukherjee in the lead roles.
Written by Johar himself, the film tells the story of Rahul and Anjali, who are best friends in college. Anjali realizes that she has romantic feelings for Rahul, and soon, when a new girl, Tina, joins the college and Rahul tries to woo her, Anjali gets irked with it. The story then proceeds in the future, where Tina has died and Rahul lives with his daughter, whose name is Anjali. She makes it her goal to make sure that the real Anjali and Rahul get together as she discovers their story in a letter Tina wrote for her.

Meanwhile, Karan Johar returned to direction films with his latest release, Rocky aur Rani Ki Prem Kahani, which did well at the box office while also getting a lot of love from the critics. In the film, Johar subverted some of the themes he created in his earlier films and revived them for the new-age battling difficult questions with entertainment. It starred Ranveer Singh and Alia Bhatt in the lead roles.
