This is the year to have your jaw dropped and heads turned as the most-awaited fashion and film festival, Cannes 2024, is here. Bringing in incredible talent from across the globe, it will be Bollywood actress Kiara Advani who makes her glorious debut, as she will be representing India at the prestigious event.

The Cannes Film Festival 2024, which started today, will see the Bhool Bhulaiyaa 2 actress be a part of the Women in Cinema Gala. As per the Bombay Times, Kiara Advani will grace the Red Sea Film Foundation to celebrate the Women in Cinema Gala dinner.

Until now, we have seen Indian actresses like Aishwarya Rai Bachchan, Deepika Padukone, and Sara Ali Khan, among others, be part of the same.

All about Kiara Advani's Cannes 2024 debut

The JugJugg Jeeyo actress has been a fashion icon in Bollywood. She has time and again turned heads with her style statements. Her Cannes debut is a testament to how she has contributed to Indian cinema.

The reports further suggest the gala dinner will be hosted by Vanity Fair at Cannes. It brings together six incredible women from across the globe and recognizes their contribution to the world of entertainment.

Moreover, Vanity Fair also reported that a four-panel discussion about global incentives and filming will also take place at the Cannes Film Festival in 2024.

The panel discussions will be held at La Plage des Palmes on May 18. Kiara Advani is all set to be a part of the Red Sea International Film Festival panel. This will mark her first ever global appearance.

What is Bharat Parv at the Cannes Film Festival?

Alongside this, India is all set to host the 'Bharat Parv' at the 77th Cannes Film Festival for eminent delegates and dignitaries from around the world. This initiative is to showcase the country's many creative opportunities.

The Information and Broadcasting Ministry revealed some more interesting information about who and what can be expected from Bharat Parv.

At the prestigious event, a delegation consisting of representatives from the state and central governments as well as members of the film fraternity will present India's creative economy in Marche du Films through a series of path-breaking initiatives.

This will be the first time India will host 'Bharat Parv' at the Cannes Film Festival to engage with celebrities, filmmakers, producers, musicians, buyers, and sales agents from every corner of the globe.

This entertainment initiative will hopefully open many doors to creative opportunities, thus relying on our creative bank of talent.

On the work front

Kiara Advani was last seen in Satyaprem Ki Katha alongside Kartik Aaryan. The film did decently well at the box office. She will next be seen in Don 3, which also stars Ranveer Singh in the lead.

As Ranveer is all set to step into the shoes of the OG Don, Shah Rukh Khan, it seems the actress has made a conscious decision to switch gears to the action genre.


Speaking to ABP News, the diva said she wanted to break her 'girl next door' image and do something different for her fans and viewers.

Kiara said, 'I think this was a conscious decision. I wanted to do something different. I wanted to change it up for myself. This was one genre I was longing to get myself to do - change the vibe, change the way I have been perceived so far. That's what is exciting, right?"

"As an actor, you are constantly stepping into different characters and making the world believe that this is what you are. There will be a lot of prep for the film (Don 3). I have time to do that, and I am very excited. I have never done an action movie. Now is my time to take some action,' she further added.

A Farhan Akhtar directorial, Don 3, is slated to release in 2025.
