It is Kishore Kumar's death anniversary today. He sang hundreds of songs in many films, right from the romantic numbers to the more sad, mood-based melodies. Kishore Kumar knew how to blend his voice with the music and overall feel of the song.

With timeless classics like "Ek ladki bheegi bhaagi si", "Tere bina zindagi se koi" and "Kora kaagaz tha" to his name, Kishore Kumar's voice is the sound of the century that will live on forever.

There are still some of his songs that are not heard as much but are classics in their own measure. Here is a list of the 5 lesser-heard songs of the legend:

1) Munna Bada Pyaara

Kishore Kumar acted in this film, which was the debut of Hrishikesh Mukherjee. Playing the role of an unemployed youth living with his sister-in-law and father, Kishore Kumar is playful and fun in the film. He has also given voice to a song that is more of a lullaby that he sings for his nephew. Filled with his sweet voice, the song is a gem, even after so many years since its release.

A special mention goes to Kumar's antics, which find their way into the manner in which he sings.

2) Ami Chini Go Chini Tomare

When two legends met, the result was this version of Rabindrasangeet. Satyajit Ray wanted Kishore Kumar to sing for him, but he didn't have the money to pay his fees. Upon knowing this, Kumar agreed to sing the song for the love of the legendary filmmaker. Kishore Kimar's voice is best suited for this song, which speaks of love.

3) Pyar Hame Kis Mod Pe Le Aaya

Not as unpopular as others on the list, but it's still a song that doesn't get as much appreciation. Composed with some experimentation by RD Burman, Kishore Kumar brings his element into it and elevates the song. The sheer passion with which the last couple of minutes of the song play out is just unmatchable. It is a riot.

4) Ye Mehfil Yun Hi Sajegi

'Ye mehfil yun hi sajegi, ye duniya yun hi chalegi', Kishore Kumar lends in some thoughtful contemplation in his voice for this really underrated song. Not many have heard it but it remains an important testament to his undying talent which knew how to work for different moods.

5) Aa Chal Ke Tujhe Mai Leke Chalu

With music and lyrics done by him as well in a film that he himself directed, this song is almost like an anthem for hope. Kishore Kumar creates a sense of utopia through his words, which he matches with such ease through his music. It is a classic that is not remembered as much but needs to be heard more and more.
