Koffee With Karan entered its 19th year with the new season that began last night with the release of its first episode. Deepika Padukone and Ranveer Singh graced the occasion and were their most intimate selves as they shared heartwarming moments from their relationship together.
The first episode has given a glimpse into what this season holds with the tone it has maintained in asking certain kinds of questions to garner specific responses from the guests. There are many speculations about who will be coming to the show. Earlier, it was noted that Shah Rukh Khan could attend the show with Suhana Khan as she makes her Bollywood debut.
However, he will not be coming to the show this year. Karan Johar revealed this as he was asked the question. He said that Shah Rukh doesn't want to be at the forefront and speak this time. He added, "I think he deserves this silence. As fas and filmmakers, we should give him that."

Shah Rukh Khan's last appearance on the show was during the promotion of his film Dear Zindagi, where he came along with Alia Bhatt. The episode was much loved by fans, as they saw Shah Rukh Khan be his absolute true self in answering the questions posed with brutal honesty. Ever since, everyone has been waiting to see the star back on the couch with Karan.
Karan Johar spoke about how Shah Rukh Khan was among the early people who understood his sexuality and the way he was. He never judged Karan for the way he spoke, walked, or just went around.
While speaking on this, Karan said, "He was born and brought up in a very progressive environment. He had come from theater he had worked with all kinds of people, and I think my parents were not being able to understand things."
Shah Rukh Khan has previously come over four times to the talk show. He was the first guest, along with Kajol, on the very first episode of the show back in 2004. Following that, in the second season of 2007, he came along with Rani Mukherji and Kajol.
