For the uninitiated, the Bollywood actor and his wife tied the knot in December 1997 after dating for quite some time. They welcomed their first child, Shanaya Kapoor, two years later, in 1999.

In the Netflix ary series, Maheep Kapoor is seen breaking down as she recalls Sanjay Kapoor having extra-marital affairs and how she left the house with her newborn daughter.

In a recent interview, she opened up about Sanjay's overly protective nature toward Shanaya and how he's the stricter parent of the two.

The former model, who is also gearing up for her daughter's acting debut, sat down for a candid chat with Zoom. In the same interview, she recalled her actor-husband's extramarital affair and how he is conscious of not letting the same happen to Shanaya.

Opening up on her decision to talk about the infedility that almost ruined her marriage on an OTT platform, Maheep revealed the incident has made Sanjay a stricter parent to their kids.

'I think it's Sanjay who feels that. I think he has dated so many women, so he has realized that all that kameena s**t that he did... he gets paranoid with his daughter. It's the truth," Maheep Kapoor said.

She further added, "He would go mental about Shanaya, my son... He was fine he is okay, but with Shanaya, I had to tell him to calm down. Then I realized he was thinking, What if some boy does what he did? He is a stricter one, but now he is a little calmer with Shanaya.'

The internet was shaking and quaking back in 2022 when the former model made some shocking revelations about her troublesome marriage with Sanjay Kapoor.

Confessing her deep, dark secrets to Seema Sajdeh (Sohail Khan's ex-wife), she said, "Now you know it, Seema. Initially in my marriage, there was an indiscretion that Sanjay had or whatever. I walked out with Shanaya. I stood up for myself, but then I had a newborn baby."

"Again, as a woman and as a mother, the first priority is my child. I owed my daughter this amazing father, which he is. I owed it to myself. And if I look back, if I had broken this s**t up, I would have regretted it all my life. Because when my kids walk into my home and my husband walks into my home, this is their sanctuary. They need to feel peace. And I feel Sanjay gives that to me also,' Maheep concluded.

Maheep Kapoor was last seen in the second season of The Fabulous Lives of Bollywood Wives. It streamed on Netflix in 2022 and continues to be one of the most-watched shows on the platform.

She will be seen in the third season of the show, which is now titled Fabulous Lives vs. Bollywood Wives. The show reunites Maheep, Seema Khan, Neelam Kothari, and Bhavana Panday.
