Maharaj: Makers Release First Look and Release Date of Junaid Khan`s Debut Film

Aamir Khan's son, Junaid Khan, is set to make his acting debut with the historical drama 'Maharaj.' The film will premiere on Netflix on June 14, promising a gripping tale rooted in India's rich history.




Aamir Khan's son will portray Karsandas Mulji in his debut film, Maharaj

Set in 1862, 'Maharaj' brings to life the inspiring story of Karsandas Mulji, a journalist and social reformer. Mulji was a student at Elphinstone College in Mumbai and a proteacutegeacute of the renowned scholar-leader Dadabhai Naoroji. He was an ardent advocate for women's rights and social reform. He wrote extensively on widow remarriage and stood up for the oppressed, planting seeds of change in society.

In 1862, India had only three universities. The Sepoy Mutiny of 1857 was still fresh in the public's memory, fueling the flames of the independence movement. Against this backdrop, 'Maharaj' highlights a landmark legal battle known as the Maharaj Libel Case, which drew national attention.

Alongside Junaid Khan, the film stars Jaideep Ahlawat and Shalini Pandey, with Sharvari Wagh making a guest appearance. Directed by Siddharth P. Malhotra, the film is produced by Aditya Chopra under the Yash Raj Films Entertainment banner.

Maharaj: First Look and Release Date

On May 29, the makers of 'Maharaj' unveiled the first look poster on Instagram, accompanied by the release date. The film's official logline reads: "Rabindranath Tagore is a year old, and the Sepoy Mutiny of 1857 continues to fan the flames of independence. Against all odds, one man takes a courageous stand in a landmark legal battle, a true story that's now come to light in 'Maharaj' mdashmore than 160 years later."

Director Siddharth P. Malhotra shared the poster on social media, expressing his excitement. "The fight for the truth between a powerful man and a fearless journalist. Based on true events, 'Maharaj' is releasing on June 14, only on Netflix! My next film as a director, please give it all the love," Malhotra wrote. He thanked the entire team and expressed gratitude to Aditya Chopra and YRF for their support.

With a compelling historical narrative and a stellar cast, 'Maharaj' is set to captivate audiences. Junaid Khan's debut marks a significant milestone, promising a powerful portrayal of a fearless journalist's fight for truth. 'Maharaj' will premiere on Netflix on June 14.
