Nagarjuna Files a Complaint Against Telangana Minister Konda Surekha

Veteran actor Nagarjuna Akkineni has taken legal action against Telangana Minister Konda Surekha following her controversial remarks about his son, Naga Chaitanya, and Samantha Ruth Prabhu's divorce. Surekha's comments, which linked the couple's separation to a political conspiracy, ignited a heated political and public debate. Nagarjuna's complaint, filed in Hyderabad, seeks accountability for the derogatory and defamatory statements made by the minister, which he claims were aimed at damaging his family's reputation.

Nagarjuna's Legal Move

Nagarjuna, a respected figure in the Telugu film industry and father of Naga Chaitanya, filed a formal complaint at Hyderabad's Nampally district court. The complaint centres on Konda Surekha's statements, which Nagarjuna describes as "defamatory" and "derogatory." In his filing, he asserts that the Congress leader was "fully aware" that her comments were false, yet she deliberately chose to spread them.

Nagarjuna expressed in the complaint, 'The statement was made with the malicious intent of conveying falsehoods to the public at large, intending to cause harm to the complainant and his family reputation for political gain and sensationalism.'

The Political Row: Konda Surekha's Remarks

The controversy began when Telangana Environment Minister Konda Surekha made sensational claims about the divorce of celebrity couple Naga Chaitanya and Samantha Ruth Prabhu. Surekha alleged that KT Rama Rao (KTR), a prominent leader of the Bharat Rashtra Samithi (BRS), played a direct role in the couple's split.

She stated, 'It is KT Rama Rao because of whom (actress) Samantha's divorce happened... He was a minister at that time and used to tap the phones of the actresses and then find their weaknesses to blackmail them... He used to make them drug addicts and then do this... Everyone knows this, Samantha, Naga Chaitanya, his familymdasheverybody is aware that such a thing happened.'

Surekha's explosive statements, which accused KTR of exploiting actresses for political gain, immediately caused a stir. Her remarks dragged Naga Chaitanya and Samantha's personal lives into the political spotlight, leading to outrage from both fans and the Telugu film fraternity.

Nagarjuna's decision to file a case reflects the seriousness with which he views the attack on his family's reputation. The actor has made it clear that such baseless accusations, especially when they target personal matters, should not be tolerated.
