The Lok Sabha elections 2024 results have created havoc, leaving every Indian citizen glued to their screens to know who will be the ruling party for the next five years. Amid the same, actress Neha Sharma, who is the daughter of politician Ajut Sharma, expressed her gratitude to everyone who voted for him.

For the uninitiated, Ajit Sharma from Congress lost to Janata Dal (United) Ajay Kumar Mandal. He was contesting from Bihar's Bhagalpur constituency. Mandal won by a margin of over a lakh votes.

The 2024 Lok Sabha election results unfortunately made Neha Sharma a troll target, as reports of her entering the film industry using her father's political influence did the rounds on social media.

Neha Sharma's heartfelt note for her father

Amid the trolls, comments, and Lok Sabha election results, the actress took to her Instagram stories and thanked everyone who cast their votes for her father. Despite the loss, the diva cheered for the Congress leader.

Taking it to social media, the Satyameva Jayate actress wrote, "It's been a tough day for us, but we gave a very good fight, and I'm very thankful to all the people who believed in my father and voted for him. While we turn the page to the next chapter, remember: OUR GREATEST GLORY IS NOT IN NEVER FAILING, BUT IN RISING EVERY TIME WE FAIL.''

Earlier, Neha was seen campaigning for her father, Ajit Sharma, in Bihar. In an interview, she was asked if coming from a political background has ever hampered her career.

To which she said, "I started in Bollywood around 15 years ago, and my dad won his first election in 2014. So, we kind of started at the same time, and he wasn't powerful back then. So, I never felt that people believed that her father was from Congress and that we support the opposition, so it's an issue. This has never backfired for me.''

The Youngistaan diva may not have delivered many successful films, but she made a mark in the film industry with her sheer talent and hard work.

Further adding about her views on campaigning for Congress, she said, ''Also, I am not here to promote a particular party. I am just supporting my father, like any child would do for their parents. I am not campaigning for or against an ideology. I have always been cast for my talent, and I hope that's how it's going to be always.''

On the work front

For those who don't know, Neha Sharma made her Bollywood debut with the 2011 release Crook, opposite Emraan Hashmi. While the movie did decently well at the box office, her performance was widely appreciated.
