Peshwa Bajirao’s descendant slams Sanjay Leela Bhansali

Ranveer Singh, Deepika Padukone and Priyanka Chopra starrer 'Bajirao Mastani' has been in news for its grandeur and history.The Sanjay Bhansali film has now made it to headlines owing to an open letter by Maratha warrior Peshwa Bajirao's kin, Mohini Karkarey that was addressed to the filmmaker.The letter primarily revolves around the picturization of the song 'Pinga', featuring Priyanka and Deepika who essay the roles of Kashibai and Mastani respectively.Mohini stated that the song features a number of undesirable elements and questioned Bhansali if he's done any research for the film.A home-maker and blogger, Mohini also added that Kashibai would limp owing to arthritis and would refrain from dance. The nauvari sarees draped by the royal women in those days, she states, were draped in a way that would never show skin.A major revelation that Karkarey made was that, Mastani and Kashibai met just once during their lifetime and it was a formal affair.She further added that Sanjay Bhansali had only mocked the life story of Peshwa Bajirao with his so-called love story and insulted the spirit of Maharashtrian families too.While Sanjay Bhansali is yet to comment on the open letter, only time will tell about the future course of events.'Bajirao Mastani' is slated for a December 18, 2015 release.
