Days before its release, Pathaan has become one of the most spoken-about Bollywood movies. With Shah Rukh Khan making his comeback after a four-year hiatus, Pathaan has attracted enough and more political controversies already. Be it Deepika Padukone's orange bikini or the song Besharam Rang, where there's an SRK film, controversy seems to follow. Amidst all this, can you guess who came to the Pathaan team's rescue? None other than our Prime Minister Narendra Modi.
With Pathaan being anticipated as one of the highest-grossing films of 2023, Shah Rukh Khan, Deepika Padukone, and Joh Abraham starrer are already observing a monstrous advance booking. Amidst some controversial comments from Indian political leaders on petty matters like the color of the actress's outfit or the film's song, PM Narendra Modi raised his voice to shut these 'unnecessary comments.'
During his party's executive meeting in New Delhi, Modi said, 'No one should make unnecessary comments that would overshadow the hard work we do.' An officer bearer from the same party who was present there said, 'In his speech yesterday, the prime minister cautioned those who make statements to grab headlines. He told them that they should refrain from doing so.'
PM Modi's remark comes amidst the boycott call from Shah Rukh Khan and Deepika Padukone's action-drama Pathaan by a few senior leaders including Madhya Pradesh Home Minister Narrotam Mishra and Bhopal MP Pragya Thakur. Mishra had objected to the color of Deepika's bikini in the song 'Besharam Rang' and asked for its 'rectification.'
Meanwhile, the Chairman of the Central Board of Film Certification (CBFC), Prasoon Joshi said in a statement that the makers of Pathaan have been asked to implement the 'necessary changes' and submit the revised version. This includes songs from the movie as well.
Helmed by Siddharth Anand, Pathaan releases in theatres on January 25 in five different languages - Hindi, Tamil, Telugu, Kannada, and Malayalam. The advance booking for the same has already started.
