Popular South Indian Choreographer Jani Master Booked for Sexual Assault

Tollywood is currently shocked by the serious allegations against one of its most renowned choreographers, Shaik Jani Basha, popularly known as Jani Master. The Raidurgam police in Cyberabad have filed a case against him, following a complaint made by a 21-year-old woman, who is also a choreographer. The complaint accuses Jani Master of sexual assault and harassment, leading to significant attention in the entertainment industry.


The Allegations Against Jani Master

According to the police, the woman has been working with Jani Master for the past few months and claims that he has been sexually harassing her during that time. The complainant further stated that the incidents took place during outdoor shoots in Chennai, Mumbai, and Hyderabad, as well as at her residence in Narsingi. The Raidurgam police filed a zero FIR and transferred the case to the Narsingi police for further investigation.

The police have booked Jani Master under various sections of the Indian Penal Code (IPC), including Section 376 (rape), Section 506 (criminal intimidation), Section 323 (voluntarily causing hurt),

This is not the first time that Jani Master has faced accusations. In June, a dancer named Satish accused the choreographer of harassment related to film work. Satish claimed that Jani Master was deliberately preventing him from securing work in the industry, adding another layer of controversy to the choreographer's public image.

As the allegations surfaced, Shikha Goel, Director General of the Women Safety Wing (WSW) in Telangana, was approached for guidance. She stated, "I advised them to launch an internal inquiry under the Prevention of Sexual Harassment (PoSH) Act and since the allegations also attract criminal charges, they were also told to register a case with the law and order policehellip the case shall be investigated further as per protocol."
