This week is going to be an absolute treat for moviegoers, with two major film releases that are all set to cause an uproar at the box office. It is going to be Prabhas vs. Shah Rukh Khan, as their films are set to hit theaters. It remains to be seen which films will eventually fare well at the box office. Prabhas' Salaar has started getting a good response to the advance booking

Salaar Advance Booking Crosses 12 crore mark

According to many trade reports, the advance booking collections for day 1 for Salaar have crossed Rs. 12 crore, selling over 5.5 lakh tickets for more than 6,000 shows across the country.

As Prabhas holds more popularity in the Telugu belts and the film is primarily made in Telugu, Salaar has a strong hold in these belts, with more than Rs 8 crore earned from the Telugu-speaking region itself. The rest of the other regions are showing normal bookings.

The major differentiator between Dunki and Salaar is in terms of their pan-Indian reach. Salaar is set to release in Telugu, Tamil, Hindi, Kannada, and Malayalam with dubbed versions. Whereas, unlike Shah Rukh Khan's earlier films this year, Dunki is set to release only in Hindi across India. The reason for this is also that Dunki is a comedy film that has some dependencies on the kind of language used.

Baahubali star Prabhas has shown time and again his dominance at the box office. It remains to be seen whether he will repeat the same with Salaar Part 1: Ceasefire.

Salaar is directed by KGF director Prashanth Neel, who is known for giving high-octane and violent action. With KGF, he surged into popularity, and Salaar has a very similar visual appeal to its predecessor. The film also stars Prithviraj Sukumaran, Shruti Hassan, Jagapathi Babu, Bobby Simha, and Tinnu Anand. The film is set to release on December 22 and is going to clash with Shah Rukh Khan's Dunki.

On the other hand, Dunki releases a day prior to Salaar on December 21 and is directed by Rajkumar Hirani.
