The trailer launch event for Pushpa 2: The Rule in Patna, Bihar, turned into a chaotic affair on Sunday. With over 10,000 fans thronging Gandhi Maidan to catch a glimpse of the stars, the excitement spiralled into a frenzy. The event, attended by Allu Arjun and Rashmika Mandanna, showcased the enormous popularity of the film but also highlighted the challenges of managing massive crowds.

Chaos at Gandhi Maidan

The event at Gandhi Maidan was packed with enthusiastic fans eager to witness the launch of Pushpa 2: The Rule trailer. Social media was abuzz with videos showing young boys climbing metal structures, waving to the cameras to secure a better view. The situation escalated as fans attempted to break through barricades to get closer to their favourite stars.

The excitement soon turned into a stampede-like situation. Videos captured scenes of fans throwing slippers and other items at police personnel. To restore order, security forces had to use a mild lathi charge. Addressing the situation, Rajeev Mishra, Senior Superintendent of Police (SSP) of Patna, said, 'Only a group of people who had come to watch the event and tried to cross the barricade were removed. An adequate number of security personnel have been deployed at Gandhi Maidan.'

About Pushpa 2: The Rule

The upcoming film is a sequel to the 2021 blockbuster Pushpa: The Rise. Directed by Sukumar, the movie delves deeper into the life of Pushpa, a daily wage worker turned red sandalwood smuggler. Allu Arjun's portrayal of the titular character earned him a National Award for Best Actor, and fans are eagerly awaiting his return. Rashmika Mandanna reprises her role, while Fahadh Faasil plays a pivotal character opposite Pushpa.

The trailer has already created a storm, garnering 10 million views across all languages within hours of its release. Made on a reported budget of 300 crore, the film promises to be a cinematic spectacle. It is slated for a theatrical release on December 5, 2024.
