Our dreamy ensemble Ranbir Kapoor, Hrithik Roshan, and Deepika Padukone may come together for the epic mythological saga Ramayana. Helmed by Nitesh Tiwari, the movie is likely to go on-floors as soon as mid-2023.
Ramayana may see Ranbir portraying Lord Ram, Hrithik as Raavan, and Padukone as Sita. It is believed that an official announcement regarding the cast and shooting details will be made around Diwali this year.
"Ramayana is among the biggest Indian films of all time and the makers have pulled off a casting coup by signing two of the biggest millenial stars - Hrithik Roshan and Ranbir Kapoor. Both the actors have agreed in pricipal to be a part of this film and have tentatively blocked their calenders from mid next year for Ramayana," said a source close to the project.
The source further added, "The paperwork still remains and the same is expected to be done once Nitesh Tiwari gives a final narration of his Ramayana Rendition. It will be a high-on VFX story, staying true to the roots of Ramayana."
It is claimed that there could be no better choice than Deepika to play Sita opposite Ranbir. However, nothing is confirmed yet. It is also said that since Ramayana marks the terrific trio's first ever collaboration, the budget for the same is going to be massive.
We cannot contain our excitement! Here's hoping the makers will unveil the cast and more details soon. Seeing all three actors imbibing iconic mythological characters would be a vision for the sore eyes.
On the work front, Ranbir has Shamshera hitting the theatres on July 22nd along with Vaani Kapoor and Sanjay Dutt. The next on his list is Brahmastra alongside his wife Alia Bhatt and legend Amitabh Bachchan. As for the Greek God, he's all geared up for the release of his upcoming movie Vikram Vedha which also stars Saif Ali Khan and Radhika Apte.
When it comes to Deepika, rumors are she'll be making a cameo in Ayan Mukerji's Brahmastra. She has Pathaan with Shah Rukh Khan and John Abrahm lined up next.
