Animal is all set to release this Friday, December 1. It stars Ranbir Kapoor, Bobby Deol, Rashmika Mandanna, Anil Kapoor, and Shakti Kapoor in important roles. Ever since its trailer was released, it has been getting quite a lot of buzz, and everyone is surprised to see the new avatar of Ranbir Kapoor.

Along with its violence, one other thing that attracted a lot of attention was its runtime of over 3 hours and 21 minutes. It is among the longest Indian films in recent times.

When asked a question on its runtime and how the makers decided to have it that way, Ranbir Kapoor first joked about it by saying that this question should be posed to Bhushan Kumar instead, as he is the producer. But then he explained the motive behind the long runtime.

He said, "Cinema is cinema. We are not releasing a film this long because we are arrogant about it. We felt that this story required this amount of time to reach the audience in the best way possible."

Further, he said, "We have seen a cut of this film, which is 3 hours, 49 minutes, and that also held. Even that was entertaining. Sandeep has worked really hard to bring the length down because you cannot stretch that much. I am hoping that the audience will not panic at the length and just come experience cinema at its best."

Even Rashmika pitched in and expressed her views regarding the same. She added, "This film has multiple complex characters. If you take one character out of it, it can be a movie in itself."

She said that the runtime will not affect numbers and said, "So if you have to enter the world of animals and understand what psyche they are coming from, you need so much time, and that is the instinct we have gone by. The film is so strong it holds so well it is not something you have to worry about."

Animal is directed by Sandeep Reddy Vanga, who previously made Arjun Reddy and Kabir Singh. Both of these films had a runtime of over 3 hours. Animal clashes at the box office with Vicky Kaushal's Sam Bahadur.
