Ranveer Singh has been making the headlines for a while now. He and his wife, Deepika Padukone, are expecting a child this September, and the couple has been taking a break from cameras to prepare. On Monday, the couple voted at the Lok Sabha election, where Deepika showed off her baby bump for the first time. To add to that, Ranveer Singh was soon supposed to start filming for 'Rakshas' directed by Prasanth Varma. However, it seems things are not going as expected.

Has Prasanth Varma's Rakshas been shelved due to creative differences?

Earlier, it was announced that Ranveer Singh will star in Prasanth Varma's next directorial, Rakshas, after the success of HanuMan last year. The filming for his next venture was supposed to start sometime this year, where Ranveer would portray a negative character.

A recent update suggests that Ranveer Singh has exited Prasanth Varma's project, citing creative differences. In April, Ranveer travelled to Hyderabad for a photoshoot for the film's announcement. Although official plans were made for the announcement, they have been halted for now. One source quoted, 'Ranveer Singh will no longer be a part of Prashanth Varma's Rakshas. They have amicably parted ways due to creative differences.'

One report suggests that the artists tried to find common ground and solutions but decided to part ways after failed negotiations. This has resulted in the film's makers restarting the casting auditions.

Another report suggests that due to failed negotiations, the film has been shelved as of now, with no confirmation that it will be made anytime soon. Despite all the rumours, an official statement from either Prasanth Varma or Ranveer Singh is awaited.

Ranveer Singh prepares for fatherhood

One source close to the expecting couple talked about how Ranveer Singh is focusing on his family right now. They also said that he's putting work on hold now to look after his wife and become parents together.

The source said, 'He is prioritising family over his hectic film schedule. While he is hearing a lot of scripts, his focus is to invest more time in the family. He is secure with his line-up while continuing to read more to have exciting projects under his kitty. The two confirmed films at the moment include Don 3 and Shaktimaan. There's Aditya Dhar's next, also in the writing stage.'
