Ranveer Singh To Play Shaktimaan In Basil Joseph`s Next, To Go On Floors In 2025

If you've ever imagined Ranveer Singh playing a superhero, let us tell you that your wish has been granted. Basil Joesph and Ranveer come together to take us back to our childhood and recreate the 1990s classic, Shaktimaan. The actor has a busy year as he has three monstrous releases to work on.
In the next two years, Ranveer Singh will be seen in some mega blockbusters like Rohit Shetty's Singham 3, Farhan Akhtar's Don 3, and Basil Joesph's Shaktimaan. For the uninitiated, Joesph is an actor and filmmaker who predominantly works in the Malayalam film industry.
Gearing up for yet another big film, Ranveer will step into the shoes of the OG Shaktimaan, Mukesh Khanna, to entertain the fans. The film is likely to go on floors in 2025.
Ranveer Singh to play Shaktimaan
As per Pinkvilla, the Rocky Aur Rani Kii Prem Kahaani actor is busy shooting for Singham 3 and Don 3. The latter will be shot in India over a period of seven months. After this, Ranveer will be busy with Shaktimaan in May 2025. A source close to the development revealed some interesting details about the project.
'Right after Don 3, it's time for Shaktimaan. The film has been on the writing stage for over three years now, and the team has finally cracked a script that's worthy of doing justice to the legacy of Shaktimaan. The film will be directed by Basil Joseph, with Sony Pictures India and Sajid Nadiadwala as the producers,' said the source.

As soon as the teaser of Farhan Akhtar's next went live, fans had mixed reactions. While some loved the idea of having a fresh and relevant face, others were disappointed to see SRK being replaced.In an interview, Ranveer Singh opened up about the pressure he has to carry to match expectations and how he is hoping to give the iconic film his own twist and spin.

He said, 'I'm hoping to make Don my own and give it my spin, my interpretation. It is the handing over of the baton to one of the most loved and revered franchises of Hindi cinema. The significance of that is not lost on me. When the announcement was made, as expected, it came with its share of skepticism."
"But throughout the history of cinema, this has happened. Even as recently as perhaps when the Bond franchise changed hands and they announced Daniel Craig as the new Bond, it came with its fair share of skepticism. So, this is only natural,' the Simmba actor further added.
