Alia Bhatt never fails to impress the audience with her fantastic performance in films. She effortlessly gives an identity to the character she does. Recently, the actress won the Best Actress trophy at the Dadasaheb Phalke International Film Festival which happened on Monday and made all of us proud of her.


She received the award for her role as Gangubai in Sanjay Leela Bhansali's Ganubai Kathiawadi. It was a proud moment as Alia Bhatt was named Best Actress at Dadasaheb Phalke Awards. The actress gave justice to the titular role of Gangubai last year. For the unversed, Ranbir Kapoor also won the Best Actor award as Shiva for the film Brahmstra: Part One - Shiva.

Unfortunately, he couldn't pick his trophy as he was not in town. It was the new mommy who picked up the award on his behalf.

She also met Rekha at the event in Mumbai. The veteran actress also received a special award for her 'Outstanding Contribution In The Film Industry'. The duo was seen posing together for the paparazzi with their shining trophies on the red carpet.


Alia Bhatt looked stunning in a white saree, while Rekha was dressed in a golden saree. In an adorable video that's doing rounds on the internet, Rekha is seen kissing Alia to show how proud she is of the actress's achievement. While posing for the paparazzi, Rekha planted a kiss on Alia's cheek. And this made Alia blush. Have a look at the video.
