Kim Namjoon, popularly known as RM, the leader of BTS, celebrated his 30th birthday in a remarkable way. On September 12, 2024, RM made a significant donation of 100 million Korean won (approximately Rs. 63.3 lakhs) to the "Everyone's Veterans Dream" project. This generous act is part of a larger initiative by the Ministry of Patriots and Veterans Affairs, aimed at honouring and supporting veterans and their families.

Namjoon makes a heartfelt contribution to veterans

The "Everyone's Veterans Dream" project is a part of the Ministry's Uniform Worker Appreciation Campaign. This campaign specifically aims to support South Korean veterans, as well as the families of fallen service members. These include members of the armed forces, police, firefighters, and prison officers who have served the nation. RM's donation will go towards providing financial assistance to those who "have received, and continue to receive, the national merit alongside bereaved families of uniformed service members."

In a statement following his donation, RM expressed his deep respect for the country's service members, stating, 'I have recently come to feel the dedication of so many people to our country. I hope this contribution can provide some small help to all the heroes who are committed to our nation and to those working for peace. I would like to express my sincere thanks to the ARMY for always showering me with love and congratulations.'

His upcoming ary film, RM: Right People, Wrong Place, is set to premiere at the Busan International Film Festival on October 2, 2024. This event will mark the first time a film centred on a K-pop artist has been chosen for such a prestigious category. RM also collaborated with American rapper Megan Thee Stallion on a new track titled "Neva Play," further expanding his global reach.
