Indian cinema and everyone even remotely related to the cinematic world is extremely proud today as S.S. Rajamouli's RRR has put India on the global map. A popular song from the Telugu movie Naatu Naatu has won Oscars for Best Original Song at the 95th Academy Awards. Creating a history for Indian music, M.M. Keeravaani gracefully accepted the award with a 'namaste.'

Naatu Naatu For Oscars 2023
Let's face it, no one ever expected Naatu Naatu to win any awards, let alone Oscars, when it was released. However, it created hype and every note of the song struck the right chord with the Academy Award jury. Today, we are as pleasantly surprised, excited, proud, and drenched in mixed emotions as you are. S.S. Rajamouli's RRR has won the Best Original Song for Naatu Naatu, a funky and feet-tapping song sung by Rahul Sipligunj and Kaala Bhairava.
The M.M. Keeravaani's musical creation competed with other masterpieces like Applause (Tell It Like a Woman), Hold My Hand (Top Gun Maverick), Lift Me Up (Black Pather Wakanda Forever), and This is a Life (Everything Everywhere All at Once).

It became the first ever song from any Indian production to win the Oscars. It is the second Indian song after Slumdog Millionaire's Jai Ho won in the same category at the 2009 Academy Awards.

The craze of the RRR song was at its peak at the Oscars in 2023. the audience saw a parody of Jimmy Kimmel being driven off the stage by the dancers whilst performing the Naatu Naatu hook step
The audience at The 95th Academy Awards also witnessed a power-packed live performance by Rahul Sipligunj and Kaala Bhairava on the stage. Even though RRR actors Ram Charan and Jr. NTR did not shake a leg, the Naatu Naatu live performance managed to entertain everyone to the fullest. The performance also received a standing ovation. Introduced by Deepika Padukone, the actress was proud, and how of the Indian cinematic creation being represented at the global level.
Awards And Accolades For RRR
While Oscars 2023 remains to be the biggest achievement for S.S. Rajamouli's pan-Indian release, RRR has garnered several prestigious accolades across the American Award functions.

The Telugu film made its way to BAFTA 2023 nomination in the Film Not in the English Language category, won the Golden Globes for Best Original Song, swept away the 28th edition of the Critics Choice Awards for Best Song, along with Best Foreign Language Film.
