OTT is going to be taken by storm yet again with Bigg Boss season 3. The third season of the much-anticipated reality television show is going to be all things controversial, much like its previous seasons. However, what's going to change is the host of the show.

Radio City has recently learned that Salman Khan is not going to host the third season of Bigg Boss OTT as his entire focus is on his upcoming film, Sikandar. Instead, Anil Kapoor will step into his shoes and bring his own element as the new Bigg Boss host.

For the uninitiated, the third season of the most-watched reality TV show will stream in June on JioCinema. The makers of the show revealed its announcement through an interesting promo, thus dropping a hint about the big change.

Salman Khan to quit Bigg Boss OTT?

According to a source close to the development, the Tiger 3 actor won't be hosting the third season of the OTT version of the reality television show. Instead, Anil Kapoor will step in as the new host and bring in his own quirks and elements.

'At the moment, Salman is focused on the prep work for his upcoming film, Sikandar, directed by AR Murugadoss. That is one of the reasons he didn't take on the hosting duties for the third season of Bigg Boss OTT,' the source revealed.

The insider further added, 'Salman is expected to start shooting for Sikandar in June, and that has made him let go of Bigg Boss OTT. Along with film commitment, Salman also felt that it would also look repetitive to the audience, as he is also known to host the reality show on TV.'

Another source confirming the same development mentioned that the Fighter actor is rather excited to host the new season of Bigg Boss OTT.

'Anil Kapoor will be hosting the show this time, bringing his own quirks and trademark wit to the show,' said the source, and continued, 'He is excited to take on the hosting studies and add his own touch to the show. The change of host also comes in sync with the trend of having a new host for every season.'

The makers of the reality television show unveiled the promo for Bigg Boss OTT, thus dropping a hint about the new host. Taking it to Instagram on Wednesday, JioCinema revealed that the new season of the show will be streaming in June.

The promo ends with a voiceover saying, 'Yeh season hoga khaas ekdum jhakaas," with the term being popularly associated with Anil Kapoor.


The first season of Bigg Boss OTT, which premiered in 2021, was won by Divya Agarwal. The OTT version of the infamous show was back in 2023, with Elvish Yadav emerging as the winner and Abhishek Malhan as the winner.

The exact premiere date of Bigg Boss OTT 3 is yet to be announced.
