The past weekend was all about physically sitting on the couch and mentally transporting oneself to Jamnagar for the Ambani pre-wedding bash. Nita Ambani and Mukesh Ambani hosted a larger-than-life celebration for Anant Ambani and Radhika Merchant, as the couple is all set to tie the knot in July. The three-day mega event brought global leaders, leading Indian industrialists, Hollywood personalities, and almost the entire Bollywood under one roof.
While Rihanna performed her first concert in India at Anant Ambani and Radhika Merchant's pre-wedding, it was Shah Rukh Khan, Salman Khan, and Aamir Khan who stole the show by dancing together.
Everything was fun and games till Shah Rukh Khan addressed South Indian superstar Ram Charan as 'idli vada' in front of thousands of people. This not only left his makeup artist angry but also disappointed the fans.

The Pathaan actor hosted the Sangeet night for the Ambanis and even danced with his wife, Gauri Khan, to the tune of Main Yahaan Hoon from his film, Veer Zaara. As the three-day grand affair came to an end, SRK found himself miffed in a controversy over a comment he made about RRR actor Ram Charan.
This happened on the first day of the ceremony, where Shah Rukh, Salman, and Aamir were seen dancing together on the stage to RRR's popular song Naatu Naatu. As they attempted the hook step on stage, the trio struggled to get it right.

That's when King Khan invited Ram Charan to the stage. While his intention was to add more fun, his choice of words, 'Bhend idly vada Ram charan kahan hai tu???' were arguably controversial.

'Shahrukh Khan is being insensitive by referring to Ram Charan as 'idli,' which could be perceived as a racial stereotype against South Indians. SHAME ON YOU, @iamsrk,' read another comment.
While one Twitter user wondered, 'Shah Rukh Khan is being casually racist to Ram Charan, who is South Indian, by calling him idli. I wonder if his so-called well-educated and sophisticated fan base will condemn it.'
Ram Charan's makeup artist, Zeba Hassan, further elaborated, 'It's funny how everyone wants to pay us 'lesser' because we're from South India, whereas they're okay to pay triple the amount for the same thing to an artist if that artist is Delhi or Mumbai-based.'
