In a promotional video shared by Walt Disney Studios India on YouTube, Shah Rukh Khan reflects on how Mufasa's journey resonates deeply with him. In the video, he shares how Mufasa's story of overcoming adversity mirrors his own rise in the Indian film industry. Shah Rukh drew parallels between the trials faced by Mufasa and his own journey to becoming Bollywood's "Baadshah."SRK narrates emotionally, 'Yeh kahaani hai ek aese raja ki jise virasat ki roshni nahi, tanhaiyo ki virasat mili,' highlighting how both Mufasa and he had to carve their paths against all odds. He adds, 'Lekin uski rago mein behta tha ek junoonhellip kaafi milti julti hai na yeh kahani? Par yeh kahani hai Mufasa ki.' This connection between the fictional king and the real-life superstar has struck a chord with fans.
The video also gives glimpses of the visually stunning Pride Lands, enhancing the emotional depth of SRK's narration. It was shared on social media with the caption, 'Ek Baadshah ki kahani, Baadshah ki zubaani,' emphasising the regal parallels between Mufasa and Shah Rukh.
