Shah Rukh Khan Starrer Jawan Nominated For Best International Film At ASTRA 2024

2023 has seen some spectacular Bollywood releases and movies that have shattered the box office collection. While some had an interesting story to tell, others brought together a massive star cast, making fans anticipate the same all the more. Speaking of box office collections, Jawan became one of the highest grossers this year. Now, the Shah Rukh Khan-Nayanthara starrer has been nominated for the ASTRA Awards 2024.
Jawan became one of the highest-grossing Indian movies across the globe, after Pathaan. The film saw a monstrous opening and went on to collect over Rs. 1000 crore worldwide. Jawan was the second film to cross the 1000 crore mark, making Shah Rukh Khan the only actor to deliver both blockbuster films.
Bollywood fans across the continents loved Jawan, so much so that it ended up being nominated for the Astra Film and Creative Arts Award (ASTRA Award) for 2024. It is the only Indian film to hop into the category.

SRK-Vijay Sethupathi's action drama has joined some amazing movies like Spiderman: Across the Spider Verse, Barbie, Oppenheimer, Killer of the Flower Moon, John Wick, and several other box office hits. These films have been nominated across several other categories in the ASTRA Awards 2024.
The Atlee Directorial will compete with cinematic masterpieces from across the globe in several languages. Along with Jawan, movies that are also nominated for best international film are Anatomy of a Fall (France), Concrete Utopia (South Korea), Fallen Leaves (Finland), Perfect Days (Japan), Radical (Mexico), Society of the Snow (Spain), The Taste of Things (France), The Teacher's Lounge (Germany), and The Zone of Interest (United Kingdom).

The Atlee directorial saw a pan-Indian release and received a phenomenal response across all languages. Apart from Shah Rukh Khan, Jawan also featured Nayanthara, Vijay Sethupathi, Sanya Malhotra, Deepika Padukone, Ridhi Dogra, and Sunil Grover in prominent roles.Deepika plays the role of SRK's mother, who was sentenced to death for attacking a policeman. Shah Rukh is seen in a dual role as Azad, the jailer at a women's prison, and Vikram Rathore, an ex-commando.
The film has collected over 761 crore in India and 368 crore overseas, amounting to a worldwide collection of 1148 crore. On its opening day, Jawan saw a monstrous opening of a record-breaking 65 crore in India.
Jawan released its extended version on Netflix in November of this year.
