APRIL 08,2024
One of the rare celestial events, the Solar Eclipse 2024, is all set to occur today, March 8. Though it won't be visible in India, most of the American countries will be able to see the occurance, thus witnessing the first eclipse of the year. For those who don't know what a solar eclipse is, it is commonly called Surya Grahan in Hindu astrology.
If we were to simplify what a solar eclipse is, it happens when the moon's orbit intersects with the plane of Earth's orbit around the sun, thus aligning the three bodies in a straight line.
The universe and solar system can work in mysterious ways. On April 8, the moon will completely block the sun, thus causing a complete eclipse.
Will the solar eclipse of 2024 be visible in India?
This has probably been the most searched question ever since NASA and ISRO announced the date of the rare celestial event. Before we answer this, let's understand a little more about the types of solar eclipses.A solar concealing is of four types, including an annual eclipse, a total eclipse, a hybrid eclipse, and a partial eclipse. While they are all exceptional in all their forms, they are not always visible from every part of the world.
At times, it might be visible throughout a continent, but there may be times when the eclipse is only visible in certain geographies and countries.
The first solar eclipse of this year, set to take place on April 8, won't be visible in India.
Horror movies to watch during the solar eclipse
Often in horror movies, an eclipse - a surreal event that shrouds a sunny day in absolute darkness or blots the moon from the night sky - is often related to something omnious happening. Hollywood has also symbolized such events as a sign of cosmic forces of nature being in total control. As Texas and other American countries witness the first solar eclipse of 2024, here are some classic horror movies you should binge-watch.
