Stree 2 Enters the 400 Crore Club in India, Crossing Dangal and Avengers Endgame

Stree is back, and this time, she's not just terrifying the town of Chanderimdashshe's dominating the box office. In its latest update, Stree 2 has become a phenomenal success, raking in over 400 crore net in India within two weeks of its release. This feat puts the film in the prestigious company of the top 10 highest-grossing Hindi films of all time.

Stree 2 enters the 400 crore club

Stree 2's journey to the 400 crore club has been nothing short of impressive. The film kicked off strong with 8.5 crore during paid premieres and continued to hold its ground throughout its first week, amassing a staggering 291.65 crore net. The momentum carried over into the second week, with collections reaching 17.5 crore, 33 crore, and a whopping 42.4 crore between Friday and Sunday. Even on Monday, the film showed no signs of slowing down, adding an estimated 17 crore net to its total, bringing the grand tally to a mighty 401.55 crore net.

This incredible performance has seen Stree 2 surpass the lifetime collections of Bollywood giants like Dangal (374.43 Cr) and Sanju (342.57 Cr). The horror-comedy has even outperformed some of Hollywood's biggest hits in India, including Avatar: The Way of Water (391 Cr) and Avengers: Endgame (373 Cr).

Director Amar Kaushik, still basking in the success of his debut film, shared his initial trepidation about venturing into the horror genre. "When Stree released, it was my first film, and I was very nervous," he confessed. He never intended to begin his career with a horror movie, but Stree ended up being a unique experience with no prior reference point. Kaushik, inspired by his own desire for fresh and innovative cinema, aimed to deliver something new to the audience.

The question on everyone's mind now is: Can Stree 2 join the elite 500 crore club? This achievement would put it in the league of mega-blockbusters like Pathaan, Jawan, RRR, Baahubali 2, Animal, Gadar 2, KGF 2, and Kalki 2898 ADmdashthe only eight films to reach this landmark.

About Stree 2

The film features the dynamic duo of Shraddha Kapoor and Rajkummar Rao reprising their roles from the first film. Pankaj Tripathi, Aparshakti Khurana, and Abhishek Banerjee provide stellar support, while Akshay Kumar adds a touch of star power with a special cameo appearance. The movie features a new entity called Sarkata, who terrorises Chanderi this time around, with Tamannaah Bhatia and Varun Dhawan also making special appearances.
