South Indian cinema is abuzz with excitement as reports suggest a potential blockbuster collaboration between Tamil superstar Ajith Kumar and the critically acclaimed director Prashanth Neel. According to recent reports, the duo met and discussed the possibility of working on two films together. This exciting news has sent fans into a frenzy, with speculations rife about the nature of the projects and the possibility of Ajith entering the highly popular "KGF" universe.

The reports claim that the first film between Ajith and Neel could be a standalone project, tentatively titled "AK 64." This film is expected to go on floors in 2025 and hit theatres by 2026.

However, the real intrigue lies in the second project. Whispers suggest that this film, which could be titled "AK 65" or even "AK 66," will be a lead-up to the much-awaited "KGF 3." Reports state that the climax of this second film will directly connect to the narrative of "KGF 3," with Ajith playing a pivotal role in Prashanth Neel's cinematic universe.

This has ignited fan theories, with many speculating about the nature of Ajith's character and the possibility of him sharing screen space with Yash, the lead protagonist of "KGF."

While official confirmation is yet to come, reports suggest that the project is likely to be helmed by Vijay Kiragandur of Hombale Films, the production house behind the "KGF" franchise. A formal announcement regarding the collaboration is expected sometime in 2025.

Ajith Kumar and Prashanth Neel's upcoming projects

While fans eagerly await the official announcement, both Ajith and Prashanth Neel have their hands full with current commitments. Ajith is currently busy shooting for his upcoming film "Vidaa Muyarchi," directed by Magizh Thirumeni. The film is expected to hit theatres this Diwali, much to the delight of his fans. Once done with "Vidaa Muyarchi," he will move on to his next project, "Good Bad Ugly," directed by filmmaker Adhik Ravichandran.

Prashanth Neel, on the other hand, is equally occupied. He is currently gearing up for the filming of "Salaar: Part 2mdashShouryanga Parvam," the sequel to his highly anticipated film "Salaar." The filming for "Salaar 2" is expected to begin next month, with Shruti Haasan as the female lead. Additionally, he has an untitled film with Telugu superstar Jr. NTR lined up.

Following the completion of "Salaar 2," Prashanth Neel will reportedly focus on directing the two films with Ajith Kumar, followed by NTR's film, tentatively titled "NTR31." With this packed schedule, it seems like Prashanth Neel will be busy for the next four years.
