It's been almost three years since we said goodbye to our favorite Sushant Singh Rajput. While his death is still an unsolved mystery, we have some interesting news for you. Sushant Singh Rajput's sea-facing apartment in Mumbai's Carter Road area has finally found a new tenant. After a wait of three-long years, the flat will see some occupants living and breathing in it.

Owned by an NRI, Sushant Singh Rajput's apartment is rented out for a whopping cost of INR 5 Lakhs with a 30 Lakhs security deposit. The popular real estate broker Rafique Merchant confirmed the news and said the NRI owner got in touch with him a couple of months ago to find a new tenant for the controversial apartment.

Merchant said, "We have found somebody (a tenant). We are in the final stage of talks with the family to finalize things. People are now relaxed about it (Sushant's death) because they say it has been a while."

The Three-Year Gap

Opening up on finding a tenant for the apartment, Rafique Merchant shared the hurdles caused due to one of the most controversial Bollywood deaths. He said, "People are scared to move into this flat. When prospective tenants would hear that this is the same apartment where he died, they would not even visit. Nowadays, people are at least visiting the flat as the news of his death has become old. Yet, the deal is not getting finalized."

Further adding, "The owner is also very particular and doesn't want to come down on the rent. If he does, it'll be sold quickly. Since he's selling it at the market price, tenants prefer buying some other flat of a similar size in the same area since it would come without the baggage of controversy that this flat is associated with."

On dealing with the potential clients, the broker further added, "The clients are informed in advance that this is where Sushant used to stay. Some people don't mind the history and want to go for it. But their friends and family members discourage them from going ahead with the deal. Now, the owner is very clear that he doesn't want to rent out the flat to a film celeb, no matter who or how big he or she is. He wants to hand over the flat to a corporate person."

The Kedarnath actor enjoyed a sea-facing view on Bandra's Carter Road. He first started living in this lavish apartment in 2019 with a contract for the next 3 years. Reportedly, he was paying a whopping rent of INR 4.51 Lakhs per month. Sushant then later started living with his rumored girlfriend Rhea Chakraborthy.
