Swades Actor Gayatri Joshi`s Car Rams Onto a Ferrari in Italy

Swades came out in 2005 and is remembered even today for its storytelling and engaging performances from the lead. Its songs and imagery are timeless. Along with Shah Rukh Khan's stunning portrayal of an Indian working in America who decides to come back to his country, actor and model Gayatri Joshi's performance is effortless. It was the only film she was a part of before getting married to businessman Vikas Oberoi in 2005 and devoting her time to family. Now, Gayatri Joshi and her husband are in the limelight for a horrific accident that took place while the two were vacationing in Italy.

In a viral video that was shot, a Lamborghini is seen colliding with a Ferrari and a van on a small highway. As the two cars tried to pass through and overtake the van, the Ferrari pushed into the van, losing control. As a result, the van turned upside down, and the Ferrari suffered a huge loss due to the mishap. The Swiss couple in the Ferrari succumbed due to injuries. Meanwhile, Gayatri Joshi and Vikas Oberoi are safe, as confirmed by some reports. The Ferrari immediately caught fire, leading to the deaths of the elderly couple sitting inside. The couple had come from Switzerland, and the incident took place during the Sardinia Supercar Tour, where luxury cars took part in a parade from Teulada to Olbia in Italy.

Gayatri Joshi started her career as a video jockey on Channel V in India. After that, she started to pursue her dream of modeling and participated in the Femina India Beauty Pageant. In the year 2000, she won the Femina Miss India International title and also represented the country at Miss International in the same year. After this initial success, she moved on to films and started appearing in ads. She was also a part of some music videos, including Ghazal maestro Jagjit Singh's Kaghaz Ki Kashti and Jhanjaria by Hans Raj Hans. She entered Bollywood in 2005 with her first and final film, Swades, alongside Shah Rukh Khan and directed by Asuthosh Gowariker.
