`The Transporter` Hindi Remake: Filmmaker Ali Abbas Zafar Acquires Rights Of Hollywood Cult Classic

Filmmaker Ali Abbas Zafar, the mastermind behond movies like 'Mere Brother Ki Dulhan', 'Gunday', and 'Tiger Zinda Hain' has reportedly acquired rights to remake Hollywood's cult classic 'The Transporter' in Hindi. The remake rights for the superhit action franchise which starred Jason Statham was bought at a hefty price.

Rumours are John Abraham will lead the Hindi remake. As source close to the filmmaker said, "Ali has been wanting to make The Transporter in Hindi for a while now and after prolonged discussions with the international studio, EuropaCorp, he has bagged the rights to make it in Hindi for a hefty amount. Ali will be directing the film himself and is excited to write the script for the Hindi speaking audience."

"The movie will be made with an A-List actor star of Bollywood... But the casting will be made once Ali is done with the work of Bade Miyan Chote Miyan. He has already zeroed in on a couple of names, but it will all eventually boil down to the dates of actors," the source further added.

On the current work front, Ali is shooting for 'Bade Miyan Chote Miyan' which stars Akshay Kumar and Tiger Shroff in the lead. He also has an untitled film starring Shahid Kapoor in pipeline, followed by 'The Transporter' remake. If sources were to be believed, Shahid's unnamed film will be called 'Bloody Daddy' which cirlces around story of incidents that happen over a course of a single night.
