Veteran Actress Mumtaz To Make Her Comeback In Sanjay Leela Bhansali’s ‘Heeramandi’

Veteran Bollywood star Mumtaz delivered several big hits over the decades. She is counted among the most successful and beautiful actresses ever. After establishing herself as the highest-paid female superstar in 60s-70s, she retired from the industry and settled in London with her husband Mayur Madhvani.
The director is all set for his OTT release, Heeramandi. The actress is making her comeback after a span of 32 years in Sanjay Leela Bhansali's series. Although there is not an official announcement of the cast yet. There are reports which suggest Sonakshi Sinha, Manisha Koirala, Richa Chadha, Huma Qureshi, and Aditi Rao Hydari take on some important roles. The source shared that the veteran actress will only appear in the first episode of the Netflix series. The show revolves around the story of courtesans and the hidden cultural reality of Heera Mandi, a dazzling district, during pre-independent India.
The series will have a total of seven episodes in the first season. The source also informed that Sanjay Leela Bhansali will not be helming all the episodes. He will only be directing the first and last episodes. The rest of the episodes will be directed by Vibhu Puri, who served as an assistant to the filmmaker.
