Veteran Actor Arun Bali Who Last Appeared In Laal Singh Chaddha Dies At The Age Of 79

Veteran actor Arun Bali, popularly known for his pivotal roles in Bollywood movies like 3 Idiots, Manmarziyaan, and Laal Sing Chaddha, passed away on Octoer 7. He breathed his last at the age of 79 after fighting a long battle with Myasthenia Gravis. A neuromuscular problem, Myasthenia Gravis is an autoimmune condition caused by lack of communication between nerves and muscles.
Arun Bali gained fame after he played a larger-than-life part in th 1991 period drama Chanakya as King Porus. He is also known for his impactful roles in Doordarshan daily soaps like Kunwar Singh in Swabhimaan and Chief Minister of undivided Bengal in controversial 2000 release Hey Ram. The actor then gained popularity for his grandfatherly roles in TV serials like Harshvardhan Wadhwa in Kumkum Bhagya, for which, he has won several awards.
Last een in Bollywood's Forrest Gump adaptation Laal Singh Chaddha, Bali played the role of an old main in train. In an exlcusive interview in February 2022, the veteran actor's son Ankush mentioned he doesn't want his father to die sitting at home. "I want him to work till his last breath as acting is his passion and gives him joy." he said.
As per Ankush, his father was repsonding well to the treatment but passed away at 4:30 in the morning. 'My father left us. He was suffering from Myasthenia gravis. He had mood swings for two-three days. He told the caretaker he wanted to go to the washroom and after coming out he told him he wanted to sit down and he never got up then," he said releasing an official treatment.
