May 16 marks Sam Bahadur actor Vicky Kaushal's birthday. Vicky Kaushal was last seen in the movie Dunki in a small role alongside Shah Rukh Khan. But did you know that the actor had always cherished a dream of working with Bollywood's Baadshah?

The Uri actor has mentioned Shah Rukh Khan as his inspiration several times before. His adoration for the superstar has been constant for ages, as can be seen in one viral picture of his younger self posing with Shah Rukh Khan.

Throwback to when a young Vicky Kaushal fanboyed over Shah Rukh Khan

A picture was shared by Vicky Kaushal's father, Sham Kaushal, back in 2022, which immediately went viral online. The picture features a very young Vicky Kaushal and his brother Sunny Kaushal posing with the Pathaan actor. The picture was taken back in 2001 on the sets of Asoka, a film starring Shah Rukh Khan and Kareena Kapoor. The young Vicky Kaushal was merely thirteen years old at the time.

Sham Kaushal shared this picture on his Instagram as a trip down memory lane after Vicky Kaushal and Vishnu Vardhan won the Best Actor and Best Director Awards. While Vicky won it for his film Shershah, Vishnu Vardhan won it for Sardar Udham.

Sharing the throwback picture of a young Vicky and Shah Rukh from Asoka sets, Sham Kaushal wrote, 'By God's grace, this photo was taken in 2001 during the shooting of Asoka in Film City. Vishnu Vardhan was asstt director, and Vicky was studying in 8th standards. Nobody ever imagined that one day Vicky will join the film line and in 2022, both of them will be winning the Best Director and Best Actor Awards, respectively, for Shershah and Sardar Udham. Back in 2019, Vicky Kaushal shared the same picture however, he edited out the others apart from himself and Shah Rukh Khan. He made a collage with this photo, alongside another of him and Shah Rukh hosting an award function together.

He captioned the post, 'Dreams do come true.' This just goes on to show Vicky's undeterred devotion to the star and his hard work to reach that level. In one interview, Shah Rukh Khan also shared that Vicky Kaushal once joked with him and said that he would've married SRK had he not married Katrina Kaif.

Vicky Kaushal and Shah Rukh Khan last appeared together in the 2023 film Dunki, which also starred Taapsee Pannu. On the work front, Vicky Kaushal is currently working on his upcoming film, Chhaava, which will be released theatrically on December 6.
