South Korean actor Song Joong-ki, famous for his iconic roles in K-dramas, is basking in joy as he announced the birth of his second child with his wife, British actress Katy Louise Saunders. On Wednesday, November 20, the actor shared the happy news on his fan cafe, delighting his fans worldwide. The couple welcomed their first child, a baby boy, last year and are now proud parents of a baby girl.


A Joyful Announcement from Rome

Song Joong-ki shared the exciting news directly with his fans, revealing that he was in Rome at the time of his daughter's birth. He expressed gratitude and shared a heartfelt update: 'I'm currently in Rome, and it's been just over a year since I met my first child here. I'm incredibly grateful to announce that we've been blessed with another beautiful baby. Our lovely princess was born healthy, and both my wife and our baby are doing well and resting. I'll take good care of my family here and return to the set soon. Wishing you a warm and happy year-end. Love you all.'

Rome holds a special place in the couple's life. Not only is it Katy Louise Saunders' hometown, but it is also where they welcomed both their children. Additionally, it is believed to be the city where the couple first met while Song Joong-ki was filming the Netflix hit series Vincenzo.

The couple, who tied the knot in January 2023, had previously announced their pregnancy in July through Song Joong-ki's agency, HighZium Studio. Since May 2024, the duo has been in Italy, preparing for the arrival of their second child.

Song Joong-ki On the Work Front

While thriving in his personal life, Song Joong-ki continues to shine professionally. He recently starred in the Netflix film My Name is Loh Kiwan and the crime drama Bogota: City of the Lost, which premiered at the 2024 Busan International Film Festival. Fans were also thrilled to see him reprise his iconic Vincenzo role for a cameo in tvN's Queen of Tears.

Looking ahead, Song Joong-ki will lead the romance drama My Youth, set to premiere in 2025. He will share the screen with Chun Woo Hee and Lee Joo Myung, adding another promising project to his illustrious career.
