Munawar Faruqui lifts the trophy as he wins the latest season of the reality show. The comedian-rapper defeated Abhishek Kumar and Manara Chopra to become the Bigg Boss 17 winner.
On Sunday, January 28, the season finale of Bigg Boss 17 was hosted by Salman Khan. Initially beginning with 21 odd contestants, the reality television show went on to see elimination rounds, thus narrowing down the field to the final five contestants.

The fantastic five who made it to the Bigg Boss grand finale were Ankita Lokhande, Munawar Faruqui, Abhishek Kumar, Manara Chopra, and Arun Mashetty. It was Faruqui who lifted the trophy and walked away with a handsome cash prize of Rs. 50 lakhs and a brand new car.

From being called one of the most boring contestants in the Bigg Boss house to becoming the mastermind of every task, he reclaimed his throne and won the recent season. Munawar's catchphrase, "Tujhe tunnel tak chhod dunga," became one of the major highlights of Bigg Boss 17.

1. A school dropout

2. Munawar Faruqui's journey to fame
The Bigg Boss winner lost his mother at a very young age to suicide. After her death, Munawar's aunt pleaded with him to come stay with her in Mumbai. That's when he started doing odd jobs.Faruqui gained initial fame with his stand-up comedy set 'Dawood, Yamraj, aur Aurat', which he uploaded to YouTube in 2020. He also released his first song, Jawab, in collaboration with Indian musician Spectra in August 2020.
3. Munawar's love life
He was married to a woman named Jasmine. However, the two called it quits in 2022. But did you know Munawar has a five-year-old son from his first marriage? 4. His time in prison

Following the outrage, 12 of his shows were cancelled, which angered him to the extent that he decided to quit comedy.
It all started in 2021, when the comedian made questionable comments about Hindu dietes in one of his stand-up performances. He was jailed for 37 days.
